Understanding Postal Issues
Postal Issues seem to be a daily occurrence. I’m constantly being contacted about delivery UK second class deliveries. Most people are chilled and realise that Royal Mail second class is a slow un-tracked service. Still, a couple of people recently thought the order was delayed because I hadn’t bothered to send it.
Just to reiterate how dealing with CJ Badges works. – You order. If it’s a badge, I make one for you. I pack it and stick a post-paid label on it. Royal Mail collects it at 9am the morning after the email is sent to you. Coins are very much the same but the coins are stocked, numbered in trays and are picked, then packed etc. The 9am posting the next day is simply because Royal Mail’s collection is now at 9am weekday morning. Items ordered over the weekend I get into the post Tuesday. I do not work weekends.
Once the package has left me, I have no control over it. Royal Mail has total control over when you will get your package. Second class post is SLOW! Only use second class post for items not wanted quickly. Tracked gets scanned the first time at the Mail Centre in Birmingham, which may be the day after.
Please make sure that you put in your address correctly. Entering the house name or number after your street confuses Royal Mail software. It also confuses the postie. More postal issues that can delay your package. Your county is a county, again the Royal Mail software throws out U.K. or one of the home nations in the county field. The U.K. is the country.

Unfortunately all non-U.K. mail also goes Royal Mail until handed over to recipient country Mail carrier. Make sure the address is correct, what said above goes for Non-U.K. about dispatch and collection times my end. Strangely, as soon as Royal Mail identifies Air Mail at the Mail centre, it speeds straight to Heathrow. There is no delay. Issues can arise due to conflict and the recipient country’s custom. We fill the customs forms and the pass through customs manually. A week sitting waiting to be looked at is unfortunately normal.
U.S. orders are slightly different. Duty is paid before posting. Orders go tracked, with less chance of a hold up as the customs forms are filled electronically. Even so, postal issues delays can and still do happen.
Please use tracked if you need fast delivery. Remember that even Royal Mail’s estimate is just that — an estimate, not a guarantee. I never guarantee a delivery. I cannot predict postal issues. I could guarantee, but I would have to deliver it myself. That might be a little expensive. I am always willing to quote.
I hope the above helps, I’ll keep this post updated as we go. I’m quite sure the specific delivery delay postal issues will not go away. I would love to send everything out Tracked. This can only be done if you, the buyer, wants it.
